About Me
Hi, my name is Brian. I'm a Denver Metro Area tennis instructor with a passion for the game. I was a highly ranked junior in Oklahoma and went on to play Division 1 college tennis and now love teaching to game to all types of players from beginners to advanced, from kids to adults. I have been teaching tennis since 2001 both to individuals and groups and love to see people's eyes light up as they hit the ball better and better in my sessions!
Teaching Style
I teach fundamentally sound, modern tennis strokes with emphasis on consistency, playing with spin, and mental toughness. I encourage new students to hit a two-handed backhand with a one-handed slice option, but I can also teach one-handed topspin backhands (since this is how I play). Forehands will be taught with an Eastern or Semi-Western grip, depending on the student.
My sessions are upbeat, positive and informative. Each lesson will have a specific focus and then we will hit a lot of balls to groove the changes. I believe in working smarter and not necessarily harder, so we may take extended time-outs to get the proper image in the student's mind of what we are trying to accomplish. That said, if your primary goal is to exercise for an hour we can keep you moving in lieu of any instructional time-outs.
I'm also a big believer in using a BALL MACHINE to work on specific shots. This gives you a consistent ball to hit and frees me up to demonstrate and help you up close. So if you choose, we can use my Spinfire Pro 2 ball machine to aid us in our sessions.
I encourage ALL students to read the book "The Inner Game of Tennis" so they understand the easiest way to learn and play this great game.

Definitely work with Brian again.
If you're looking for a tennis instructor, look no further than Bryan. His expertise as a former pro shines through in his coaching. He’s not only has a deep understanding of tennis technique but also a talent for sharing that knowledge in a way that's easy to understand and apply. He arrives early before every lesson, fully prepared with a variety of equipment (multiple ball types, a ball machine, court markings, etc.) to cater to different skill levels and drills. Beyond his technical skills, Bryan's passion for the sport is infectious. He brings a wealth of tennis wisdom and a sense of fun to every lesson, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Bryan to anyone wanting to improve their tennis game.
Brian asked me what I was trying to accomplish, and we've worked within the context of what I want. He is very communicative and willing to adapt based on day, location, temperature etc... Enjoying my time!
Brian is great. He’s very willing to work on specific parts of your game, if so desired, but he’s also willing to put forth what he thinks you need to work on most.
He is conscious of not overloading you with too many things to think about all at once. But he is very clear about giving you a few things that you should be thinking about the most.
And he is very on top of scheduling with text messages in plenty of time to set up lesson times. He’s also very flexible when you have to skip a week.
Highly recommended.
I am very happy with my lessons with Brian. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He is really helping me to hone my skills, which is exactly what I wanted! Highly recommend.
