About Me
I am a USPTA certified professional who's been playing tennis for more than 40 years and teaching for more than 29 years. I was a highly ranked junior player and currently coach girls high school tennis for a Division I Montgomery County school. I've worked as an assistant pro at Norbeck Country Club, been a director of tennis for summer camps in Bethesda, and am also a former fourth grade teacher in MCPS. I was also named the 2018 Washington Post All Met Coach of the Year for Girls tennis.
Also, please be advised that I will only give private lessons. I do not offer semi private or group lessons.
Teaching Style
I'm great with both kids and adults and adapt my methods to suit each individual student. I pay close attention to building solid fundamentals and incorporating great footwork, as I believe those are the keys to success. I spend the majority of my lessons on these principles and also build in opportunities for games as well.

Mitch is patient and kind with my daughter who is a total beginner. He gives just the right amount of push and guidance without overwhelming her.
Coach Mitch arrived on time and the lesson actually started a few minutes ahead of schedule. The plan for the lesson was perfect for my son, and the amount of drill time was close to the maximum. I could see the improvement in my son's groundstrokes over the course of the lesson. Coach Mitch was very positive throughout and provided good feedback at the end.
Great teacher, super patient and enthusiastic. I've learned so much.
