About Me
Hi, my name is Lou. I have been playing tennis since I played on the tennis team in high school. Once obtaining my PTR certification, I coached varsity high school tennis for the Tome School, a private institution for 3 years. During that time, I coached both 1st singles players to an undefeated season. Tennis has been a passion for quite some time and I love to share that passion with others.
Teaching Style
The style of teaching is adapted to the student. I teach children 8 and older, teens who are competitive and adults who just want to get back on the court. I have coached women's cup teams who are seasoned players, but want to work more on strategy. Tennis first must be fun.

Coach Lou is an excellent teacher . He is very knowledgeable and insightful. His joy of the game is evident . He can take any player of any skill and develop them into very competitive players . He works on both the physical and mental aspects of the game. I made the right choice choosing him for my daughter .
I started training with Lou late last year at the Elkton Tennis Club. I had not played in a very long time and wanted to start playing again. Seriously, I hit the ground running because of Lou. First, he is very easy going yet he is extremely consistent in providing constant feedback. This combination allows one to adapt quickly to his instruction. He has excellent visual cues to enable one to adjust and improve one's technique. I try and see him twice a week. While a lot of changes have been made to my original strokes and my serve, the changes are for the better and are consistent with proper technique. Tennis is a thinking game and Lou continually advises on strategy along with technique. My goal is to be confident enough to play in a league in the Fall. I believe I am on track to do so. Finally, the best thing about Lou is his passion for the game. He is not going to instruct you and just go thru the motions. He treats each student with attention to detail and an intensity that demonstrates that he cares about improving your game (I have observed this not only in one on one instruction with Lou but in the clinics he ran at the indoor club). I look forward to each and every lesson with Lou and mentally think about how to improve between sessions. Clearly I recommend him along with a rating of Five well deserved Stars!
Lou was excellent in the time I spent with him. He explained different facets of the game very well. I would recommend him to anyone that asks because I know he would do a great
My son expressed an interest in learning the game of tennis and Lou provided personal lessons for my son in order to help him develop fundamental skills. I found Lou's style in training children to be outstanding. He is patient and thorough and thanks to Lou my son has developed a love for the sport.
I began tennis lessons with Coach Lou 2 years ago. I was a field hockey and softball player, so I thought that picking up the game of tennis would come easy to me. However, that was not the case. Coach Lou was very patient and encouraging though and this kept me from getting frustrated with the sport. He told me to look at this new sport as a challenge and to keep pushing myself to get better. I am very grateful for his advise and encouraging words along the way, because I am now able to play in a contract during the winter and compete in USTA this summer.
I had not played tennis since college. Lou had a real challenge to teach me new skills in order to help me bring my game to a more modern level of play. He is particularly good at explaining new skills in a way that makes it easy to translate those skills into your game. He is personable and patient. He makes the hard work fun and, he makes success attainable.
